Are You A Hobbit Or A Dwarf?
Okay, I confess! With the release of the Lord of the Rings series, I'm hooked once again. Thirty some years later and out come the books, including the one that started it all, The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien. And after watching Parts I and II (many times over) and re-reading The Hobbit, I've come to the following conclusions which may help you determine your best path on the intense internet marketing highway.Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit that starts the whole series flowing, makes a statement to the effect that one must be careful walking out one's front door, because you just don't know where your feet will lead you next.Does that path lead to fame and fortune? Or straight to the dragon's lair and all it's dangers!Bilbo is thrust into an adventure that, under normal Hobbit circumstances, just was unnatural for him to undertake. He faces horrendous dangers, an

Common Courtesy, Professionalism, and Respectful Treatment Does Matter for Internet Sellers Too
As an online bookseller, I have personally received some obnoxious emails from customers that have purchased used books from me in the past few years. Fortunately, there were few of them, and their numbers were dwarfed by the absolutely thoughtful emails sent by other customers. Most people are genuinely grateful that I take the time to adequately describe the book they bought and that I ship their orders in a timely manner, but there is the occasional delay by the post office for which a customer assumes I am responsible. It does not matter how well you pack a book, or how clearly you label your packages, the post office will inevitably lose one or destroy it with one of their book munching machines. From the customer's perspective, they do not care why they did not get their book or whatever product you are selling, they only care that they paid for it and you did not del
I have devoted my life to the study of sound. I am not a physicist, a doctor, a scientist, nor an audiologist. I am a master of sound, an accomplished concert pianist. Since the age of eight, I’ve studied the relationship between the body and the vibration of musical notes. What I couldn’t have known is that one day I would deeply yearn for the one note I would never hear again – the note of “no sound.”

Perhaps the tinnitus was caused by all of those over-the-counter decongestants I was taking for my flu, or maybe it was the stress of being at the pinnacle of my performing career, or maybe it was the news that my wife, Nancy, was giving up a good paying job, or a combination thereof. Whatever it was, one night I dreamt I was sitting on an airport tarmac between two jet engines. When I woke up, I realized this noise wasn’t just a dream. It was in my head! I rolled off the bed onto the floor in a fetal position with hands over my ears.

Over the next few weeks, I begged doctors to help me. My journey of hope began with visits to family doctors, referrals, and audiologists. Weeks turned into years with more research leading my wife and me to more doctors, shamans, and dozens of healers around the world. We live in Canada, but traveled to as far away as Japan.

Save Money on Auto Insurance, Business Insurance, Health Insurance
These days insurance have been swarming the four corners of the United States. Whether we like it or not, insurance is a need. Why? There is no denying the fact that one disaster can have a devastating effect on a firm, a family and an individual. It can be damage, bankruptcy and death to name a few. What are the factors that we should consider and how can we know the insurance that we need.CAR/AUTO INSURANCEOne has to consider the purpose of owning it whether for personal use, for public transport use like a private taxi, or use for transportation of goods and industrial materials. Age is also a major consideration. Old vehicles pay a higher premium than new ones. The type and model of the vehicle has a major role also. When buying car/auto insurance online, there are sites that provide automated tools. They’re using an auto coverage analyzer where you have to answer

    Spelling Counts
I have dealt with many companies, read many books, and looked at images. Many times there are spelling or grammatical errors. I realize that it is very difficult to catch every error and my materials are no exception. No matter how many times you pass the words by a team, something will always be overlooked. If you take time to look at your materials with a fine tooth comb, you may still miss a small error. What you should be doing is proof reading absolutely everything that you send out. One spelling or grammatical error stands out like a sore thumb; it is always noticed by someone outside your company. You should make every effort to make sure that your documents are perfect, although this is very difficult to achieve.Documents that have not been proof-read and are full of errors look like a hand painted sign for a lemonade stand. They scream out as homemade, unprofessional

Position Yourself In the Market and Cut Down on Unnecessary Advertising
Everyday I meet small business owners who delegate their marketing responsibilities to a third party and tell me “oh, our marketing guy handles that.”“Handle what?” I ask, then they usually tell me “oh our advertising and other stuff”.Whether you like it or not, whether you perform actively or passively, your business is always marketing. That’s not to say that you should “advertise” everyday. But it means that everything you do in your business should integrate to educate your prospects about the advantages that your business brings to them and each message should reinforce what you stand for.You can develop your unique marketing approach by* Testing,* Executing,* Monitoring, and most importantly, by paying meticulous attention to every penny you spend and bringing the best ROI.It doesn’t really matter if you don’t

Building Your Nest Egg - The Beginning
To summarize the previous steps, we’ve learned about the importance of creating a budget to understand where your money is being spent; saving money on your car maintenance; how to grocery shop wisely; the management of credit cards and their proper use; understanding health insurance and how to prepare for its future decline; and understanding your household overhead (the cost to run and operate your lifestyle). In this installment, we will discuss building your nest egg. According to Wikipedia, “A nest egg is an idiom referring to accumulated wealth, generally liquid investments, earmarked for some future purpose. The term is used most commonly to refer to retirement savings. The imagery invoked is that of a mother bird caring for a precious, irreplaceable object, which may often be delicate, and in a precarious position.”The first step to building your nest egg is to

What started as my journey of hope turned into a dark and painful life with bouts of deep depression. The tinnitus sabotaged my music, my marriage, and sometimes my very desire to live. The worst part was that because my injury was not visible to the world, people had no appreciation or ability to feel compassion for my suffering. I felt very alone. It suddenly occurred to me that maybe Van Gogh cut off his ear to make his suffering visible to the world – not because he thought it would stop his tinnitus.

Believing no one in the world could understand my physical pain, or my emotional burden, I turned to the Internet only to find chat groups with more stories of chronic depression and misery. It became clear I wasn’t alone in my suffering, but it didn’t make me feel better about my situation. That was when my wife became the most afraid, and ordered me to stay out of the virtual company of these sufferers, and instead to stay abreast of research through the American Tinnitus Association.

I was so busy fighting the tinnitus and struggling to make it through the day, I barely noticed my wife’s struggle with my tinnitus too. I had no energy for her personal fight to keep me alive, or to fight the Canadian Hearing Association when they told me they couldn’t measure the volume of the noise I hear (higher than their instruments could measure). I had no strength to fi
