I’m sure many others do as well. If they were still alive I’d bet that great copywriters like David Ogilvy, Leo Burnett and Claude Hopkins would all use Macs.

A Mac is a very user-friendly machine. I don’t want to waste my time learning how to use machines and their software. I want to get on with producing videos and articles to help people win new clients. A Mac is easy to use.

The Mac world seems to be populated by independent people like me. I’ve been running my own businesses for a quarter of a century and I feel at home amongst like-minded, free spirits.

Apple don’t just sell you a computer and leave you to get on with it. They have a wonderful service called ProCare. It added about 4% to the cost of my Mac, but what fantastic value. ProCare allows me to book a one-hour appointment with a Mac expert in the Apple store every week. I just go in and ask questions to my heart’s content. I arrive with a fresh list of questions every week. It’s a great way to learn because you’re answers that you really need.

My Mac came complete with some of the coolest software. GarageBand creates sound tracks for my videos. iMovie is a great way to edit my videos, add titles and hyperlinks. Keynote and Comic Life are really useful tools to add visual appeal to the content.

Having battled with various different computers and their operating systems for some 20 years it amazes me how intuitive my Mac is. It seems to understand what I want to do. The designers at Apple appear to think like “users” rather than “geeks” who make everything difficult.

A real bonus for anyone who has a relatively small office in their home like I do is – no wires. My Mac has a radio keyboard and mouse. So the top of my desk is wire-free. I can see acres of clean shiny wood on my desktop, this ma
