I have something to say that’s driving me batty. It’s regarding graduates who fuss about not getting a job they like or not getting a job at all for that matter. Blah blah di blah…Let me ask you something. Imagine a small town like ours with a limited number of companies, looking for limited vacancies to fill. There are thousands of graduates leaving universities each year hunting for a job too. How the heck would a pissed-off HR director filter out from that titanic pool a few lucky folks, including YOU?Of course, any sane HR director would only choose the BEST and most qualified of the lot, true? Salary Negotiation Tips You Can't Miss
The interview was good and now its salary negotiation time. The employer asks you an open-ended question about the salary you are expecting. You know that your answer could affect your chances of getting further because if you quote a figure that is too high then he might mentally strike you off the list and if you quote too low you will be short selling yourself. It is an important part of the entire process because it puts a value on your capabilities. You ought to know the value you bring. This is one question that you cannot be caught drivel about so its better you get some information and fix your true value. And the market price for that job as well.First and foremost find your true value. The base value comes out of your qualifications and experience and the previous value affixed to it. If you are going to stay in the same line of business, i.e. if you have developed some core competencies in your area, you would certainly be looking to get more than what you wer

We all hate listening to people, especially when they are right and we are wrong. For those of you who have kids of any age, you will know what a challenge it is trying to get the message across to them.My 17 month old son is at an age where he understands the word NO!, but chooses not to act upon it. This can create an understandable amount of frustration, and eventually it ends in tears!In business we need to do more to listen, specifically to our clients, and customers. When we choose to ignore our customers, they will leave and go elsewhere, while we sit at our desks waiting for the phone to ring.But listening to our cusomters is easier said than done, or is it?We need to automate the process. None of us can afford to spend hours on the phone listening to clients moan, or walking around the shop floor asking people what we can do better.
