Essentially, the decisions are somewhat self-centered, focusing on “what’s good for me” rather than “what’s good for the whole of my state or country”.

Maybe it’s just easier and less work to vote this way rather than to actually do a little research into what the candidates are all about.

It seems this voting behavior was quite present in the Nov. 7 elections. The chance of any decent progress being made or legislation passing is now highly unlikely for the short-term future.
