I have written on causes of wars and ways to gain the upper hand if one is caught in a war. The one thing I did not write about is barriers to winning wars. Vietnam included the rule not to follow Communists across to Cambodia [it was done covertly, anyway]. The Korean war included the rule not to cross over BACK into N. Korea cause the Chinese would back the N. Koreans and re-attack the US. The list goes on.
I could win the war in Iraq and so could ground generals there IF it was the will of the US government to do so. Right now, only an imbecile in a closet would say that the Iraqi war is not about oil. It is. Recently, the Saudi government suggested that under different circumstances, they would send troops into Iraq. OH yeah! Which troops? The 2,000 man Saudi Army? The 4,000 man U.A.E. army? If they were any good, they would be in Iraq now helping the US.
For over 1,000 years [watch out, the pope discussed this recently and caused a world-wide riot among FRIENDLY Muslims there is such a thing?], Sunni have fought Shiites. GOOD for them. Did I forget to mention it, it's "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, with your host, GW Bush!"
What is that to us Americans? For those of you under 60, you will not likely remember the oldest feud, supposedly settled in the early 1990's, between the Hatfield's and McCoys. Seems one of them was messing with the other's daughter and one was caught and shot. Like in many neighborhoods and even nations, instead of "Calling in the law", these two families took the "Get 'em like they got our kin!, approach." The Iraq war is about two simple, deadly activities; a religious Hatfield and McCoys battle AND a war for territory between Iran and Syria and whoever else. Damn, he actually said something I believe he felt! Muslims are overt [or covert] Socialists. That is a fact. Muslims are led by their religious leaders. Women have no rights in most of the World of Islam, Muslim world. Blah blah. One need only briefly review the benefits of Democracy compared to the benefits of Socialism in Arabia, to understand why Democracy would change their entire region and CAUSE the cessation of the Muslim religion. Democracy means equal rights. Socialism [closet Communism] means each sex's rights are decided by the government WHERE women must be kept subdued because that is in the Koran. Thus, if women in the Nation of Islam are to have equal rights, the Muslim world must implode too. Not going to happen. Who in their "right" mind would easily give up power!
Next point; nation's needs and political leaders change over time. What is the benefit of having Iraq become Democratic? Bush thinks it will become the leading chorus leader in the area. A dozen government leaders have no motivation to give up their power. National boundaries change every thousand or so years when one guy becomes more powerful than another guy. So, why do we in America care who runs Iraq, Afghanistan? NOT me. I have never heard any Muslim say TO THE PRESS [yes, some Muslims have changed to become Christians and it almost caused the life of an Afghanistanian last year] "I want to become a.... and no longer be a Muslim." Muslim nations, Bush forgets, have in their constitution [for those that have a constitution] that they will run their nations as Muslim nations. Their constitution prohibits Democracy. Those nations have no motivation whatever to renounce their corrupt government/religion for Democracy. None. Those leaders get rich, having no laws which restrict them-
