I have often heard people questioning the love that we as human beings have for our pets. Are we supposed to love our pets as much as some folks do? Is it not a sin to spoil them the way we do, by giving them special treats while there are less privileged people around us? Will our Supreme Being not frown upon this love for my dog, horse?

I feel quite confident that I have found the answer to these questions - if you'll allow me to start with a quote from the Modern King James Bible:

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. Man was thus created to rule over the whole creation. Later (Gen 2:20) Adam had to give names to the animals, which he did. This implied that he had to have been close to them to name them after their resemblance.

I have a Husky (Levi) that I love very much. She loves me as much – if not more! We live together in a house on a farm where she can roam and rule as she please. Come evening, or when I’m at home during the day, she would pay me frequent visits, and tempt me to play with her. She sleeps in the lounge at night, on her designated chair with her towel over it. Distressed as I was at that point, I took some Eno fruit salts, dissolved it in a little water and poured it into her eye. From her reaction I could see that it was not doing the eye any good. Again I prayed to God to please cure her eye, as I had neither the knowledge nor the medicine to ease her pain. I also begged of Him to preserve her sight and the beauty of her eye. You guessed it! The very next day, she was well and still has the most beautiful bright eyes that any creature can hope for! Praise the Lord! My point with this citation is that if He Loves His creation so much, we, who were created to His Image, are also allowed to love our pets as much.
