Over the years it is very easy to forget some of the basic tenets we were taught when we started meditating and some key rules were never actually told to us at all. If you have been meditating for some time and have hit a plateau, have a look at these five tips to re-charge your meditation schedule.

    - Stop
    - Follow the rules
    - Goodbye history, No tomorrow
    - Watch NOT Do
    - Be ordinary

    Stop
One of the most important things we tend to forget to do as meditation becomes a part of the schedule of life is to STOP! The most important reason for the intervention that is meditation is to help us rise above the everyday cut and thrust of life and to look at our lives from a different angle. Before you actually sit down to meditate, take a few moments to gather your thoughts, do some breathing exercises, stretch, anything, but make sure that you have stopped. I know that this is a bit obvious – but you won’t believe how easy it is to forget.

    Follow the rules
Meditation is about balance and balance requires certain rules and rituals. My father enlightened me to the fact that great musicians learnt their art through practising scales thousands of times a day. It is that practise of very rigid structures that then allows them to rise above it and experiment with the sound. The Ego hates following rules and a key intervention to get it to tow the line is to take the path that has been taught to you and follow it through to the bitter end. Years of meditation panders to this weakness and it is important to strip away the extras from time to time and return to the basic essentials.

    Goodbye history, no tomorrow
For the 15 minutes or half an hour that you practice your meditation, forget the past. It’s over and done with and doesn’t really matter at all. What you did or didn’t do or what was done to you doesn’t really matter in the greater scheme of things. And at least for this very moment, forget about the past. In the very same way, just for the period of your meditation, forget about tomorrow as well. There is a tendency in experienced Meditators to just watch the thoughts as they come and go, but if every teacher has a different twist in how to deal with these memories and fantasies, if a technique has been taught to you, don’t forget to use it.

    Watch NOT Do
The key problem with the Ego is that it wants activity and the purpose of Meditation is to disengage from the Ego. Try stepping back from the activity and become the ‘Watcher’ rather than the ‘Meditator’. Watch the body, the breathing, the itches and pains – anything – but doing. This practice very quickly becomes a part of your day to day life which very neatly fits into my last and final tip for today.

Being aboriginal is not simply a physical expression of Aboriginal identity but includes a mixture of cultural inheritance, spirituality and an inherent connection with the earth.Every child has the capacity to learn. The evolution of technology is changing the traditional methods for job searching and recruiting.
