    The tracking of materials and goods in the warehouse is coordinated by the WMS or Warehouse Management System. This is a database driven computer program. The WMS is used by logistics personnel to increase the efficiency of the warehouse, by directing putaways and maintaining accurate inventories. It also helps to record the warehouse transactions.
