Sales Secrets From A Six-Year Old
Picture a beautiful sunny day one weekend in late spring in Perth, Western Australia. A climbing white iceberg rose is in full bloom releasing its sweet perfume into the still air.Underneath that rose sitting on the footpath are a six-year old girl and four-year old boy, both with blonde hair, blue eyes and impeccably dressed. They have a table, chair and umbrella set-up, with a little hand-written sign saying "Raffle Tickets For Sale Only $2".They patiently wait in the warm spring air. Then as people walk down the street, the six-year old confidently approaches them saying, "Hello, would you like to buy a raffle ticket, we're raising money for our school!"How could anyone refuse? This was my daughter Georgia as she sold raffle tickets and in a small way helped raise more than $30,000 for her local school. What did I learn from my daughter's entrepreneurial appr

    No Easy Fix
Our average day's fare is comprised of burgers, pizzas, coffee, tacos......and maybe if we are trying to eat "right" we have a fast food salad (soaked in chemicals) or a falafel instead of a burger.Over time our bodies literally become addicted to these foods. The salt, the sugars, and as we take more in.......we need more. Like a junkie on heroin the moment our "fix" isn't available our minds CRAVE these foods!!Corporations spend millions of dollars each year on studying which foods are the most addictive! Its no secret (but not a well known fact) that there is a multi-million dollar food testing facility that, among other things, does just that......test new foods to see which are the most addictive. (They use other terms to describe the research but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out the motivations)So when the time comes to finally diet........wow.....it's to
In the series of columns I've written, to the tune of around 300, and four books during a period of four years, I've attempted to present my observations of what I've experienced living in central Mexico in the city of Guanajuato. To say that it has been interesting is to make a gross understatement. What I've attempted to do, albeit poorly, is present information. And really, all we ever receive in our daily lives is information. Whether it is information in the form of written material or an actual event, like a car accident or a loved one's death, it is just information. How we react to any information, no matter what form it takes, depends on how we perceive it.

If you have a hard time with this concept, you are not alone. I spent the better part of my 48 years on this earth more or less believing as most humans do: that what happens to me as an individual can be someone else's fault. What is really meant by that is if someone ran over your foot with his truck, and you punch him in the nose for his effort, then you blame punching him in the face on the fact he ran over your foot.

But, let me suggest that the running over your foot by your careless friend is just information. It is an event presented to you in the form of information. How you choose to deal with that information is entirely up to you—it is your fault how you react to anything! Punching someone in the face for hurting your foot is but one choice. Yes, your foot is injured, you are in dire pain, but how you choose to react to that informational event is up to you. You get to choose. You don't have to hit your friend. You could choose differently.

Perception is everything! How you perceive anything is determined by your personal filters through which the information flows. If you perceived your friend's carelessly running over your foot with his truck as an act of malice, then you could hit him, hobble awa

    A Guide to Annuity Products
Annuity is a fixed amount of money received for the whole life or a definite time period specified and agreed upon, in the contract. A savings account is the most common example of an annuity, where the annuitant deposits the principal amount of money to earn a certain percentage. The annuitants may invest this money in business, insurance companies or lend it to individuals. The percentage of the income is specified at the time of agreement. This serves as a partial return of the principal amount and an additional income, simultaneously. In case of group annuity contracts, the periodic payments are made to one of the employers, covered by a master contract signed by the employer. Retirement annuities are paid only post-retirement. In case of the annuitant?s death, before the expiry of the agreed period or the annuitant?s decision to surrender the policy, a certain amount is paid back to

    Have You Got Credos?
If you look up the word “credo” in the dictionary it’s defined as “any creed or formula of belief”. Did you know that many of the most successful people throughout history used written credos?Elbert Hubbard was an incredibly famous author and speaker in the early 1900’s. Mr. Hubbard documented credos for both his business and personal life and focused his existence on living by them. As you read through his credos below, you’ll be amazed at the feelings of excellence that well up inside of you. You may even realize something important about yourself. We can all learn a great deal from these wonderful guiding principles…Elbert Hubbard's business "Credo":• I believe in myself. • I believe in the goods I sell. • I believe in the firm for whom I work. • I believe in my colleagues and helpers. • I believe in American business methods. • I believe in
formational event is up to you. You get to choose. You don't have to hit your friend. You could choose differently.

Perception is everything! How you perceive anything is determined by your personal filters through which the information flows. If you perceived your friend's carelessly running over your foot with his truck as an act of malice, then you could hit him, hobble away on one foot cussing wildly, break off the friendship, sue him, or any number of choices. But the key thing to realize is that what happened was just information in the form of pain, and that event cannot make you do anything. It is you who make you do something. The event was just a lifeless informational event that requires you to choose how you react to it. It can hold no power over you to manipulate you. You are responsible.

Information in the form of the written word is also a powerless entity. It cannot do anything to you. It cannot make you act. It cannot hurt you. All it is is a bunch of words on a computer screen, a book, a newspaper, or whatever. If someone writes something offensive and you read it, all you are reading is information. You have no idea the motive of the writer, what's in his or her mind, why it was written. It is information. It is nothing but words. How you choose to act to what you read is entirely up to you and your perception.

I often hear people calling this writer or that writer someone who is writing nothing but negative things. No. It is not something negative that was written; it is just something that was written. It is just words on paper. If you call it negative, it is, well, your perception of the things that the writer wrote.

People give absolutely too much power to inanimate things on a page of text over their lives! People will get their knickers all twisted in a knot over something written when what they are doing is giving power over their lives to w
