Over Population and Collapse of Society in Africa
There is a huge problem in Africa with over population and the people are having too many offspring that they cannot feed. Recently this issue and challenge came up at our Online Think Tank and one member stated:"My gosh, there are people having kids when they know they have HIV and some mothers in the slums with 6-8 kids? This is nuts, but it is cultural too and the Catholic Church got there first and told everyone it was fine, luckily the Pope rescinded the anti-Condom mandate. Too many people on the planet and with droughts and crop failures, ouch. One bad season and see ya."In doing our research one member was surprised that condoms are now available in Africa to slow the HIV-AIDS crisis, but alas most people refuse to use them. That is sad indeed, another huge issue, it is sickening to think that in many parts of South Africa the HIV/AIDS ratios are something like 39-45% of the population. It will only grow. At that level you are getting into quarantine levels, which no one will talk about either. Some NGO volunteers admit that we cannot help people as they will not listen. Unfortunately there is the problem, it is nearly a lost cause. Anyone who studies Sun Tzu would tell you, forget it, you cannot win that one, it is a lost cause? Ouch. Can we really be so cruel?Something must be done, but nothing s

Kea Island is very close to Athens, it is a mountainous island and small valleys, planted with fruit-trees and vines, break up its coarse beauty. This is quite holiday spot and its numerous bays and attractive villages offer quiet relaxation in contrast to the other more popular islands in the Cyclades. Hora is the capital of the island and home to the Archaeological museum which hosts a number of Cycladic period finds.

Greek mythology has it that Kea was the residence of the nymphs of the forest springs who embodied the "liquid element". The gods envied its beauty and sent a fearsome lion to persecute the nymphs who took escaped to Karistos. Then a long period of dryness began, water levels decreased and the vegetation withered. The islanders asked for the help of Apollo's son Aristaios. He came to the island and built a sanctuary to honour the Ikmaios Zeus, the god of rain. The gods were pacified and the draught was reduced allowing agriculture to thrive once more.

Korissia is the port of Kea and is situated at the southern end of the Limin Ay Nikolaou in the NW of the island. The houses of the port are built around a bay, on a small plain. You can moor stern or bows to the quay keeping clear of the ferry berth. As the Meltemi blows straight on to the quay ensure your anchor is holding. Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group Keeps Focus on People, Not Numbers
To most people, the idea of a nonprofit organization is pretty straightforward: The organization is founded, assembles an operating board and staff, makes plans to secure funding and goes about its mission – be it providing programs for children or rescuing endangered animals. Sounds simple, right? Not so in the eyes of insurance providers. According to California-based Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group Founder, President and CEO Pamela Davis, when she started in the insurance business in the mid-1980s the industry stood with its back turned toward nonprofit organizations. Providers didn’t want to take on what they perceived to be the high risk of these organizations, with their work firmly in the public sector and the chance for, among other incidences, sexual abuse allegations to arise.Nonprofits’ Insurance Alliance of California, which Davis founded in 1989, set out to change this perception. “We came in and said we would provide coverage specifically for 501(c)(3) nonprofits, with a separate policy for sexual abuse,” says Davis, who was named a Winning Workplaces/FORTUNE Small Business Best Boss in 2005. Originally doing business in California under state legislation that limited the company’s reach to nonprofits within the state, the company formed other entities in 2000 under federal legislation that allowed it

First Time Homebuyers With Bad Credit
Bad credit on buyers' accounts displays their weak financial situation and default in payment. In spite of that situation, the buyers aspire to be house and property owners. In such a situation, there are few things to be kept in mind, while trying to buy a house. Primarily such buyers with bad credit histories should keep in mind that regular moneylenders, banks or mortgaging companies will not readily endow with their services. Because these buyers have had a past wherein they were not able to pay their debts on time, the financial institutions would have a hard time trusting them again. This is why the first time homebuyers need to search for specific financial institutions set up for the very purpose of providing loans to such buyers. These special financial establishments acknowledge the need of the buyers and provide home loans that are very flexible and can be granted to them irrespective of their bad credit history. Such lenders are called sub prime lenders, who provide appropriate advice along with the loan provisions. Loans given to homebuyers with bad credit have special terms and conditions. Amongst the major conditions of such loans are the interest rates, which tend to be high as compared to normal rates. The repayment structures and term periods also vary and should be followed by the borrowers.Other plac

Loulis, the capital of Kea, is situated 5.5 km from Korissia. Many of the old mansions are built next to the ruined castle. The ancient acropolis of Loulis and the impressive sculpture of Kea's Lion are both worth a visit. As are the churches of Panayia Gamila and Panayia Revmatiani and the ruined monasteries of Agia Anna and Dafni.

On the coast further to the south there is an anchorage at Ormos Pisa, there are no facilities here. Further south still is the anchorage of Ormos Kavia, open only to the south it provides good shelter from the Meltemi. The taverna run by Manos can provide provisions, fuel, gas, water, ice and showers. Ormos Polais is in the SE of the island. This anchorage provides some shelter from the Meltemi but holding is not always good. There are ruins ashore including those of a temple. Khalidhoniki is a small cove in the NE of the island with good shelter from the Meltemi. The small village ashore has a taverna. Orgias is a small cove on the northern coast that should only be used to anchor in calm conditions. There are no facilities.

The barren, rocky island of Kithnos lies 6 miles to the south of Kea. Legend says that the Dryopes, who came from Eboea, settled on Kythnos in the 11th century BC. In classical times the island was a well organized city state praised by Aristotele. Excavations have found a site dating back to the Neolithic or even the Mesolithic period, making it the oldest habitation in the Cyclades. In more recent times, around 200 BC, the island was frequently attacked by the Romans although they never succeeded in taking it. The island is 19 km long and covers an area of about 80 square km. The only green shade in the heat of the summer is provided by many the fig trees. Toda
