What Does It Take to Become An Expert?
I have had friends and relatives say that it’s just not possible to run a marketing business entirely online. If I had started to believe everything people say about online business being a scam, then I wouldn’t have begun. I bet the Wright Brothers were told they couldn’t fly, boy did they prove everyone wrong.When I meet someone who asks what I do for a living, I tell them I market products and services online. Then you get the “look.” You know what that is. All of us have seen it at one time or another; it essentially says, “What is your real job?” There are so many skeptics in the world that people can’t believe what they are hearing.This is my REAL JOB! For every business to succeed whether online or offline, you have to put time and effort into the product. It doesn’t run itself; someone has to be behind the scenes making it work.For some of us the idea of network marketing makes us think of soliciting friends, family, friends of family, complete strangers in line at the grocery store. I don’t know about the average marketer, but for me these are not options for creating a home-based business.Before we go any further, I want to clear up some misconceptions about Internet Marketing. Running an online business isn’t for you if all you want to do is set up a website, and sit back and make money. It will not run itself! I would only give her $9.00 but I gave her an incentive – to prove to me she was worth it before I consented to that kind of pay (which was a lot of money to me at the time). My story is that an author who’d done online writing for such dot gones as Themestream, Written By Me, and The Vines, someone trying hard to have fiction, poetry and nonfiction in print for real, recommended PublishAmerica. She claimed it was a traditional book publisher. I was struck with their slogan, “We treat writers the old fashioned way – we pay them.” Wasn’t that what publishers were supposed to do?But since my novel was just sitting on the DiskUs Publishing site and doing nothing but supplying me with enough money to buy a pair of skate laces every three months, I thought maybe it would have a better chance over at PublishAmerica where it would be available as a trade size paperback both on and off-line.So this author, Ellen Du Bois, had a big thing on her Geocities site about books being available in brick & mortar bookstores & they’d have ISBN numbers and be online and all that stuff. Also had her full size book cover up so I sat there for 5 minutes waiting for the damn thing to appear. Not impressive, but she liked it. Ellen was a cheerleader for her book and sent reviews from a weekly community rag and she bulk e-mailed several pieces of correspondence during those heady days when her book was in prerelease, then release stage in the summer of ’03. I broke down and bought a copy from Amazon – took almost 3 weeks to get. And I struggled to read all 176 pages. Tripe. Clich?s abounded. Spelling/grammatical errors weren’t there at least. But the writing was thin. The story moved too quickly. The main

The People in Southwest Texas are Sure Nice Folks
Recently while traveling around the United States of America, I found myself discussing what everyone who lives in Southwest Texas and has ever traveled outside the area already knows; Darn those are nice folks who live in Southwestern Texas.I said to the gentleman there who emailed me after I had left; “Greetings. Well I am now pretty far from there by the time I got your email. But I appreciate that. Nice town you have there. Nice folks; Too nice in fact. You see; Being from Los Angeles well you kind of get use to people flipping you off while talking on the cell phone with the other hand and honking their horn with their elbow as their middle finger is out their BMW sunroof. Go figure?”During my visit I said to myself; it is often hard to handle all the nice folks in West Texas, what a difference compared to Boston, LA, Chicago, NYC, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta, Miami and Denver? We pulled into that town at 2 am late one night and two gals sitting outside a C-store gave us directions to the Wal-Mart so we could park our RV for the night. Nice people I tell you.Well I am retired now. Have been to every city in the country over 10,000 people now. Great country, more people need to know this fact and people need to know you always have friends in Southwest Texas. If you want to talk with nice folks my advice to you is cruise down to Texas and see for yourself. Consider all this in 2006.

For first-time mothers-to-be, this candid, funny and very reassuring guide to pregnancy is just what the doctor ordered - or would if he/she knew about it. This book was GREAT! I would recommend it to every first time mom.....but only if you really want to know what you're in for...the whole truth and nothing but the truth! I like being prepared, and the thought of giving birth was one of my biggest fears...I'm not sure if I was more worried about the pain or humiliation of the entire ordeal! This book answered sooooo many of my questions, and since I read it early in my pregnancy, I had many months to mentally prepare for the "big day."

I haven't read this one yet, but if it's anything like the Guide to Pregnancy, then it will be well worth the read!
