    Academic Qualification for Business Success
You know, I am a keen observer of business activities, not at international level, but at the nook and corner of the city.A “school drop out” makes gold coins on the street!I was watching at the boy in a corner shop at the ninth street of that populous cross cut road. He was holding a small slicing tool with one hand and operating it rhythmically with the other. The slices fly off and fall into the simmering coconut oil. He turns and takes them out as gold coins. Yes. When you see them, they look like gold coi
    Have Some Time to Yourself
One of the most important things you can have when running a successful business, is to have time for yourself. Every small business owner needs to make time to be quiet.

The following facts apply in every small business:

    • You will always have deadlines to meet.
    • No business is perfect.
    • No business owner is perfect.
    • You will always have disgruntled staff to deal with.
    • You will always have customers who are unhappy, due to one thing or another.
    • You will always order too much or too little stock.
    • You will always find that the supplier sends you the wrong thing.

Many things will contribute to you being stressed out at the end of a business day. You will feel a lot of pressure and you will be left a mental and physical wreck at times. However, you still need to summon up the energy and patience to deal with the frustrations that come as part and parcel of owning and running a small business.

The Value of the Quiet Time
To try and combat this stress and pressure you need to budget a small amount of time every day, aside in a quiet place, to recharge your physical and mental batteries.

This is known as a 'quiet time'.

Teachers in day care centres and kindergartens often use quiet times to maintain some sort of order in their classrooms. When you have 20 or 30 hyperactive little children running around, quiet time allows them to calm down. As a business owner you need to treat yourself to the same sort of attention. After you have worked so hard, you owe it to yourself to have some time for yourself.

Quiet time is not an option it should be a basic requirement in your business. This time of being alone, where you have a few minutes or even half an hour to yourself, will pay dividends in the long run, in how successfully and stress free you will continue to run your business.

We are not suggesting that you go into meditation or wear a robe, or go into a trance, or anything like that - simply take time to go for a walk or feel the wind blow, or smell the flowers. Just sitting in the park will do you a world of good.

If you can't get out, make sure you close your door and put the 'not to be disturbed' sign up. Don't turn on the radio or TV. Don't read any books. Simply just take some time to relax and take it easy.

Highly strung, entrepreneur achievers need this quiet time relaxation the most.

You will probably find that when you begin this, it will be difficult to shut off all the business problems of the day. You need to persevere, because the business problems will always be there - no matter what. It's true how the big problems will appear smaller once you have them in the right perspective.

Changing Jobs When The Boss Is A Jerk
In a recent conversation with a young man who works in a restaurant, an all too familiar scenario was played out again. The young man recognized me as a frequent customer, and struck up a conversation that surprised me with the level of trust he had in confiding his situation. He said that he was trying to find a better job, because the place where he was working was low in pay and had no benefits. Unfortunately, he also stated that all the efforts he had recently tried in finding a better job were being thwarted by a negative

        Choosing the Right Corporate Training
According to a Gallup Poll, 80 percent of employees said the availability of company-sponsored training programs was a factor in deciding whether to accept a new job or stick with a current one. And yet the Bureau of Labor Statistics says that the average number of hours of formal training per employee per year is only 10.7.More companies are starting to realize that it's smart to invest in training, but faced with so many choices, how can an organization make sure it's getting the most out of its educational investment? little children running around, quiet time allows them to calm down. Over the past 25 years I have had the unique opportunity to talk directly with many of the professionals and instructors who use Overhead Projectors as an integral part of their profession. Through these interactions I have accumulated notes and information that has inspired me to write these articles that pertain to some of the most common problems experienced by owners of today's and yesterday's Overhead Projectors. This is the eighth article in a series of articles that will be written from a professional Electronics Technician

Did you know sales success and icebergs have something in common? And no …this article is not about cold calling! Many of us know an iceberg has about 7/8th of its mass below water. But did you know the largest Northern Hemisphere iceberg on record was encountered near Baffin Island in 1882? It was 8 miles (13 km) long, 3.7 miles (6 km) wide and rose 65 feet (20 m) above the water. The mass of that iceberg was in excess of 9 billion tonnes - enough water for everyone, in the world to drink a quart (litre) a day for over 4 y
