    Getting Search Engine Traffic
If you have a website then you already know that it is important to get good and legitimate traffic to it. Website traffic is to Internet marketing as oxygen is to human beings. It is really the only thing that matters. If you cannot generate targeted visitors to your site, you will not only not have any sales coming in, but your business will evantually die down and vanish.Usually the owner or designer of the website is the person designated to drive traffic to the site. One of the main ingredients in generating traffic is the search engines.Using the search engines to generate targeted traffic is the least expensive meth

What? You're Saying NO To My Opportunity And Becoming My Customer?
I know most of you reading this newsletter have been told NO by your family and friends and maybe on occasion your t wo-year-old. Not to mention cold prospects. NO is a serious word. We tell our kids NO when they are going to do something that will harm themselves or just going to do something that is just not a very good idea. Remember saying NO to a child and the reaction you got? Either they would ignore you, appear shocked or give you a look to imply confusion or at times defiance. Now, what if you attach a slap of the hand to that NO. Well, it becomes something altogether different at that point, right? So, what i
It’s frustrating when your co-workers, teenager or even your dog won’t listen. While you can’t control how they receive what you say, you can control how you send it. Here are a few tips on why people don’t listen and what you can do to change it.

    1. Short Attention Spans

Problem: When asked to guess the average adult attention span, most people say around thirty minutes. According to statistics, however, the average adult attention span is actually only seven seconds. That’s right! Every seven seconds you go away somewhere. You think about something else. In fact, you could actually be taking a mental break right now. It is a normal part of how the brain integrates external stimuli – like when your computer starts defragging for a moment while you type.

Solution: It helps to pause from time to time when you speak. This allows people to integrate your information or ask a clarifying question. Also, include examples to anchor your concepts. For example (see--I’m doing it now!), a concept wit

Do you want to know the secret to increasing your customer base, your business, and your profits?Current customers and clients!Yes, that is right. Your current customers and clients is the key to building your business. In the beginning when we are trying to win new business we are out building new relationships, networking, and spreading the word. But once we have the business we leave these customers alone and neglect them. Some Common Misconceptions about Marketing
Marketing is a subject that's very often misunderstood by many of us who are not directly involved in it. There are many misconceptions around what marketing teams do, especially in relation to the art of selling. There are, however, some key things to understand that can help clear up this confusion considerably and will help in your every day understanding of what marketing and marketeers are actually all about and what they're trying to achieve.1. Marketing is not sales.Sales is the specific skill or act of closing a deal or brokering a customer's commitment to enter into a deal or make a purchase. The skillset for sales p

    Socio-Technical Systems and Organizational Values
Modern organizations define themselves using statements of vision. They state their vision in terms of human resources and technology, a socio-technical view. Modern organizations also define themselves in terms of values. New employees entering the organization learn the value system from employees with longevity in it. How organizations incorporate socio-technical systems as a reinforcement tool of their value system is the focus of this paper.ValuesIn business, small and large, values determine course the business sets for itself. Yukl (2006) defines values as key statements of an organization. The value statement is ideologi

    Negotiation Tips
Having been in business for over 25 years I have seen some excellent negotiators. The way they operate is to work with your concerns and show they understand your position. To these operators, negotiation is both a skill and an art and some have developed it to such a high degree that you could even think it is a science. We all negotiate every day in some way or another so becoming more skilled is something that would beneft us as individuals, and benefit our businesses and organisations. Mostly the outcomes are not earth-shattering but when the negotiation is important follow this advice to reach the best outcome for all parties.Whe

For example (see--I’m doing it now!), a concept without an example is like tree without roots, a house without a foundation, or Sonny without Cher. It just doesn’t have as much staying power.

    2. Too Many Distractions

Problem: I was in a meeting the other day and five people coughed, four people side talked, three cell phones rang, two people went to the restroom, and a partridge did email on his PDA. Distractions are a big part of modern life.

Solution: Your best bet is to acknowledge the distractions in a playful way. A manager who recently led a meeting I attended did this. When a cell phone rang, he grabbed for it and said, “Hello, Greg is in a meeting right now and he forgot to turn off his cell phone. So, please call back in a minute and leave a message. Beep.” That prompted everyone to turn off their phones.
