    ISO 9000 Vicarious Liability
ISO 9000 is an enormously successful international quality management system set by the international standards organization. Apart from helping in designing a quality assurance system, ISO 9000 also imposes many liabilities and responsibilities on the part of business organizations.ISO certification can guard organizations against corporate vicarious liability. Vicarious liability refers to the legal responsibility (accountability) of an employer for the actions, crime or injury done by one of his employees in the course of disch

    Attitudes of Shopping
The retail stores back in the 80s did not have any competition hence it kept growing and competition was minimal. Back then you could buy like crazy, load up your stores with a vast variety of inventory, do a fair job with merchandising, and customers of all ages and sizes would come flocking in to buy and buy. Those were the days, but times are different now. As a business grows and changes, so does its customer base. As I speak with business owners in my audiences from across the world, I am constantly amazed that many cannot arti
What in the world has the 18th century literary figure and essayist, Charles Lamb, to do with internet business development and promotion?

Well, please bear with me. Firstly here’s a highly edited “short version” of his “Dissertation upon Roast Pig” You need to know the basis of the story to understand what follows:-

The swine herd Ho-Ti being obliged to go to the woods left his cottage, with his pigs inside as was the custom of ancient times.

When he returned, he found the cottage razed to the ground by fire from errant sparks, and the smoking sow and her cooked piglets under the ashes. He jabbed the pig to test it for signs of life and burnt his fingers, whereupon he shoved his fingers in his mouth, as one does, to soothe the burn. He was wholly surprised by the delightful taste and jabbed the pig some more and put his fingers in his mouth some more.

Soon the neighbours started to remark upon the regularity with which Ho-Ti’s house burned down. Nothing but fires, sometimes in the morning, sometimes the middle of the day or even at night. At length Ho-Ti and his son were watched and the awful truth saw them hauled for trial, because of this terrible crime against God, to the largest village, Peking. In their defence they presented their jurors with hot pig crackling, with the result that they were immediately acquitted. The judge went home and his house burned down, and now there was nothing to be seen but fires in all directions. Fuel and Pigs became enormously dear.

Ultimately, some sage realised the flesh of pigs might be cooked without the necessity of burning down houses. Although Charles Lamb did not report it, I have it on good authority it was one of his issue who sta

Joint Vision In A Partnership Company
When two businesses form a partnership, it is essential that both partner companies have a joint vision regarding the new company or the partnership will face numerous hurdles. It is essential that all issues are agreed and signed when the contract to form the partnership company is signed. It is essential that an unbiased and experienced attorney help both parties negotiate a deal to minimize the risks of incompatibility helping create a mutually beneficial relationship for all parties concerned. How to Create a Joint Vision in a

Finding Fulfillment at Midlife: The Second Chance Career
For more than twenty-years, Carla’s primary focus was working her way up the corporate ladder in the Human Resources department of a large publicly traded company. Day after day she worked hard to meet the demands of her superiors and colleagues, until one morning she woke up with a sickened, sinking feeling in her stomach. It was her career, she realized. Having spent nearly half of her life working in an unsatisfying job, with few genuine accomplishments and the goals of her youth long forgotten, Carla had hit midlife and she did

Create Your Marketing Machine to Plan for Marketing Success
Do you ever feel like you're constantly running around, trying to get your marketing materials put together and out the door? Are you frazzled by the marketing process, and driving your writer, designer, or printer absolutely nuts? Is your "plan" to just pick one new idea every now and then to implement? Or are you constantly hopping on the latest marketing idea, and throwing away your time and money with your efforts? You're not alone; most small businesses have the same approach to marketing. The result is marketing that's not co

Direct Mail Marketing Generates Sales Leads: Here's How
    1. Personal Unlike an advertisement in a trade publication, which can be read by anyone, your sales letter arrives at your prospect’s place of business as a piece of personal communication from your mind to his. Also, unlike any other medium, direct mail can be personalized (Dear Mr. Smith) and customized to each reader (“As an IT manager, you know that . . .”), showing your prospect that you know about him by name and understand his business in particular.2. Cost effective Advertising by its very nature is expensive. To

And so an internet business building philosophy can be constructed:

    1. An apparent calamity may often obscure hidden benefits and progress. When all goes awry, keep your head. Look for the opportunity.

    2. When you have something good going, forget schedules and just do it at any and every chance you get.

    3. People are often afraid of anything new, and may be slow to adapt it to their use. Consider new approaches to whatever you are doing. For example, Can an eBook be used to promote your business and your knowledge of your chosen subject?

    4. Good things are often the development of a chance discovery. Many a niche marketer will tell a tale of ‘accidentally’ discovering an untapped need.

    5. In order to progress, it is sometimes necessary to go against conventional wisdom. How many times have you heard predictions of gloom and calamity from the soothsayers and ‘deadenders’?

    6. It is always easier for most people to follow than to lead. Just the same way as everyone wants to get to the Promised Land, but nobody wants to cross the wilderness. It takes courage and determination to be at the front of the pack. This is good. There is a lot less competition at the front then at the back.

    7. No matter how original your ideas may be, expect them to be widely copied. Remem
