But, did you know there already is a strong number two auction site? Yahoo is known for many things, but their auctions stand above all others in listings and sales. Although only doing a fraction of the business Ebay does, this is head and shoulders above all the rest.
But as a buyer, why bother? Why not simply stay with Ebay for your purchase? As a person who has sold a lot on Ebay, let me tell you that as a seller, Ebay fees continue to rise and are now so high as to prevent many items from being profitable to sell on Ebay at all. The cost of doing business at Yahoo Auctions, is much lower. As a buyer, you can find many items on Yahoo Auctions that are no longer available on Ebay. In addition, because of the lower cost of doing business (sellers pay no listing or final value fees), prices are often lower. Many bargains can be found.
And for those of you who have used Yahoo Auctions, but haven’t been back in a while, sellers can now offer PayPal. This has been in effect for over 18 months now.
The most difficult part for a shopper is finding the auctions to begin with. Once arriving at Yahoo, it will often be listed on the left side column. If not, then simply click on the bottom of the left side column on the button saying More Yahoo Services. All of their products are listed in alphabetical order, with auctions being near the top.
