I do the same on my Index page, I have compiled a load of FREE stuff into an E-book and I simply give it away just for visiting my site, I do not take any ‘Names nor Email Addresses’, because most people do not like to hand out their Names and Address just to get a book, this would defeat the purpose of the book, in that I want it to go Viral. Most people landing on my Index Page will open the free book ensuring a larger distribution of the book hence the book will draw more browsers and in effect more customers. I do the same here as I have done on Landing pages, and placed it at the very end of the page and rather than going to the new page it is set to open a new window, there-by keeping my Main web page open.
