Although success means different things to different people, there are some ingredients that are necessary to have in the mix. One of the most important ingredients is being effective as a businessperson. So, whether your business is small or large, new or growing, you need to be effective.Being effective is doing the ‘right’ things well. Now, it’s simple to say that you’re choosing to be more effective, but following this through with actually being effective isn’t always easy. It’s a journey and there will be roadblocks along the way. First you’ll need to identify these obstacles and beware, because they’re not always obvious and not always easy to identify. After all, your ego will be kicking and screaming to keep you where you are. Your ego doesn’t want you to change and will do everything it can to stop you and this is often done in very subtle ways.Being more effective will require you to be more self-aware and to observe what’s going on. This isn’t an opportunity to give yourself a hard time or to keep asking why. That gets you nowhere. It’s an opportunity to observe with detachment, notice things and then choose different actions. So, what do you notice that blocks you from being effective? One possible obstacle is what a friend and I have nicknamed the Whatever the response was, your card made some type of impression. I know I do. That’s because I LOVE my cards. I spent thousands of dollars on printing, several hours on designing and went through 10 different layouts until I got them right.I was at a networking site talking to MLMer's about their problems and concerns. One concern keeps on popping up and that is why people are so stupid to not want to make more money. What most MLMer's don't realize is that the uninterested prospect isn't really stupid, and it's not really the prospect's fault. But it is the fault of the MLMer not to move on and find the more qualified prospects. Here's how the conversation went.MLMer: I just ask a person to listen to a phone presentation to give them info to what I really do. Then they complain that they're broke or either have a health problem. Now, if I told you I had something that could help you in both ways with no risk involved would you do it?Me: Well, hate to say this but no. Here's why.I'm coming from a direct response background. A lot of people are just satisfied with their crappy situations and don't want to change. No matter what you tell these non-ambitious people - they won't budge.A better (and MUCH less stressful) way I found is to target the people who are looking for business opportunities. And I'm not talking about seeing a sharply dressed man or woman at the gas station and strike up a conversation with them to see if they are looking for something better either! What I would do is to find a list of people who have responded to money making o And it was all worth it.
