So You Want To Be a Professional Speaker
It is important to understand that just because you have the confidence to get up in front of hundreds of people and state your opinion or talk about your expertise, does not qualify you automatically for the world of professional speakers.

Create Impact With Your Speech or Presentation - Use Body Language to Support Your Image
What sort of image do you want to project when you are presenting? Who does the audience see? How will they remember you after this presentation? Are you professional, poised, articulate? Are you warm, folksy, creative, nurturing? Maybe you want to be seen as ballistic, confronting, no-nonsense, boot camp material. This is what the audience will remember of you and this image must work to add power to the impact of your presentation, not undermine it. Image and message must work together. Whatever you may be trying to achieve, don’t let the impact you create with your image be an accident. In this article, we look at how to make body language work towards creating that image.

Mastering the Art of Public Speaking
For some people, mastering the art of public speaking is a lifetime of learning. It is something that they can never get enough nerve for even though they can write eloquent speeches and have important ideas to pass on at public meetings. It requires a certain finesse to be able to speak in public and the only way to do it is to jump right in with both feet. Even though your insides are shaking standing in front of a group of strangers, once the speech is over, you can sit down feeling immensely satisfied.

Public Speaking Myth #2: Proper English is Not All That Important
I heard it with my very own ears. And what's even more distressing is that I heard it uttered by an attendee during a break in a workshop I was giving. When challenged by another student, he cited as proof of his statement the sloppy-to-abominable English heard by us all in our everyday lives.

Presenting with a Partner - Tips for Making It a Success
Recently I attended a presentation introducing several new computer software programs. I was doubly delighted. In this article, I address some of the effective ways of partnering for a presentation.

Motivational Speaker Says: 'Blessed Are The Dissatisfied'
At least a few times during the past six months I’ve quoted one of my dynamic speech teachers, Sheldon Hayden, with respect to one topic or another.
He was a dashing, former Navy Captain and one of Dale Carnegie’s first clone-instructors.
One of his favorite aphorisms said: “Blessed are the dissatisfied, when they have a constructive goal!”
He knew that contented people, however tranquil and nice they might be, are not the ones who build and change societies, recalls top speaker, best-selling author, and Fortune 1000 consultant, Dr. Gary S. Goodman.

Think Purple Cow!
In my opinion, most of our speeches are brown cows. Safe, predictable and downright boring. You can already guess the ending when you are 1 to 2 minutes into the speech! The message is usually the same. Even if you religiously adhered to all the tips that experts had shared with you, you will become a polished speaker, just like everyone else.
