Sharon Olds is one of the best representatives of English speaking literature and poetry in particular. What is more noteworthy is the fact that she became popular nowadays, so we may say she is a contemporary author. Probably, my words may sound too excited but I cannot speak otherwise about a person who succeeded in poetry and in literature at large in the age of pop art and mass culture when different, often quite simple works of modern art replaced really deep and thought provoking masterpieces.
