Gender Discrimination in Employment
Social women's discrimination means limitation and deprivation of rights on gender basis in all spheres of social life: employment, social and economic, political, moral, and family. Social discrimination leads to decrease of women's social status and is one of the forms of abuse over her personality which means it is a threat to her safety.
Discrimination in employment is a rather wide-spread phenomenon. It can be defined as an unequal opportunity for workers who have the same productivity or different employers or state's attitude towards them. Employment discrimination can be faced by separate workers or by the whole group of employees.

9/11 Five Years Later
Today, five years ago our great nation of freedom came under attack from a selective group of Islamic extremists. September Eleventh of two thousand and one was the first time since Pearl Harbor that an attack was carried out on American soil in such an enormous scale. It was an atrocity against every American citizen whether you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim or of another belief, it was an attack to take away your freedom...an attack against your right to choose your lifestyle, your way of living life and yes, your well being.

What it Takes to Transform Lives Globally
Many years ago, in 1994, when I was told that I would be bringing through information from God to uplift the spiritual consciousness of humanity, I had no idea that this was even possible.

Do Mass Media Influence the Political Behavior of Citizens
Outside of the academic environment, a harsh and seemingly ever-growing debate has appeared, concerning how mass media distorts the political agenda. Few would argue with the notion that the institutions of the mass media are important to contemporary politics.

Canadian Immigration Statistics
In the same way that other countries keep track of immigration to their countries, Canada also keeps track of the status of immigrants inside the country. In Canada, the agency responsible for doing so is the Canadian Immigration and Citizenship or the CIC. For their part, the CIC diligently keeps track of the status of immigrants in the country, and they present their data in a quarterly publication that can be found on the web site of the agency. In its issue for March 2006, the CIC presents the most recent data and statistics on immigration in Canada.

Carwashes and Illegal Immigration; Some Businesses Just Do Not Get It!
Many carwash owners and operators at the International Car Washed Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada this year try to justify the hiring of illegal aliens. The hiring of the legal immigrants in any business in the United States is against the law just like sneaking over the border is against the law.

Poverty
Poverty is being interpreted variously: some define it as a low level of profits and charges, others as impossibility of maintenance of the desired vital standards, also as a certain self attitude and place in the society. It depends on an author and from conception which he adheres to at consideration of this question.

Gulf of Mexico Earthquake Rocks; Wonder Why?
Fortunately the Gulf of Mexico has seen no major Hurricane this year in the 2006 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season, which is a good thing because those ocean surface temperatures are indeed pretty hot. But now instead of large Hurricanes we have a large Earthquake right off the coast of Tampa Bay, Florida.

September 11th, 2001 - A Troubling Metaphor
At the time I watched the towers crumple from the sudden strike of the previously unimagined, I did not realize I was watching a metaphor for the great promise their soaring human achievement beaconed to the world. It is five years later, and I see the vast optimism our nation once promised the world at the tipping point.

The Aesthetics of Atrocity: Remembering 9/11
Getting the aesthetics of atrocity right by committee has taken five years with nothing to show for it. Estimated costs of completing the 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero is closing in on a billion dollars. It has been our contention from the beginning that the inspiration was always there right in the committee's collective faces, staring back in stark, abject horror at them and anyone who looks back at it: the still standing remnant of shattered dreams and lives in a building once known as the World Trade Center.
