Memory Cross - Not the Stuffy Tracts of the Past

Let's face it - most tracts that people hand out are not even read. That may now change.

Will Religion Be The Next Driving Force Of Technology?

While many other industries have utilized technology to drive their productivity forward, Christians are beginning to see the need and usefulness of using technology as well. From church software, to missionaries out in the field, Christians are treading a new path to use technology.

Anglican Covenant Overlooks Liturgy - Flawed First Draft

The drafters of the proposed Anglican Covenant, intended to hold together a fragmenting Anglican Communion, have failed to include the concept of common prayer – one of the jewels of Anglicanism. The draft covenant proposes a sort of corporate papacy alien to Anglican (Episcopalian) thinking thus far. Surprisingly, there is a complete absence of reflection on shared liturgical practice, once part of the genius of the (Elizabethan) Anglican settlement.

Amish Diversity

White buggies, cigars, and video games. The surprising cultural variety of Amish society.

It Shall Be Done

He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer. This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

Is It OK to Question the Bible? You Can't Unsee What You Do See

If you are a genuine seeker and you truly notice that the Bible has some real problems with what we truly know today about many topics, and even within itself, in the form of many contradictions and editing done by one to correct the problems of the other, it's ok to ask. A real seeker cannot not notice what they notice. You can't go back to the lame apologetics that many offer to explain away the problem as if there is no problem. It's just fine to ask and seek a truthful answer from those that profess to have all the answers. You can't unsee what you do see. You can't unring a bell.

Native Americans Are Renewing Their Traditions - Here Is One Way

One way that Native groups have attempted to renew and retain their traditions have been through ceremonies. In the past, ceremonies have been an important part of Native American tradition and in the twentieth century the natives have tried to revive these ritualistic actions.

Satanism and the U.S. Military

The United States has fallen far away from its once held status of a nation of God. Former members of satanic cults tell us that these cults slowly and incrementally lead new members into Satanic worship over a long period of time. First these satanic cults deny that God and Satan exist. Then they admit that Satan exists but explain that he is good. Then they introduce the worship of Satan. Finally they reveal Satan in his true evil nature. Satan has used the same tactics on the culture within the United States, he has introduced small incremental changes in our culture. The changes keep coming and they keep drawing America further and further away from Jesus Christ. We can see these changes all around us. We can see them in our TV programs, in our movies, in our music, in our government, in our courts, in our schools and in our homes. In 1978 the progression of the United States into the occult reached a milestone.

Complacency in the Church, Overcoming It

Complacency is overcome by change, however in order to have change you must first overcome complacency. This is the chicken and egg problem, which comes first. Change begins with a single powerful person, spreads from him or her to a few others through examples, produces some group benefit, and then spreads still more widely. In order to bring about change you must have a plan or a program.

Cherokee Ceremonies

Our Cherokee ancestors were very creative in preparing for their national festivals; they tried to make each ceremony unique in some way. Music, drumming, dancing, feasting, stick-ball and storytelling were joyous expressions of thanksgiving and occasions for Cherokee bonding at all cyclical ceremonies.

Akashic Records

Is there a holographic image of your life in the universe? Can we access images of our past life?

Have They Found The Grave Of Jesus?

A grave has been found, so they say, possibly containing the remains of Jesus and his supposed offspring. Could it be true? Does it matter really?

Crossroads

That meeting between us was perhaps the most important one during those formidable years because it created a pattern by which I would live my life. There have been many occasions since then when I had to choose a principled path even though it meant some hardship. In the long run I’ve never been sorry for any of those decisions. I say this because many years have passed and once again I am at the crossroads and its time for a decision on how to live a life as a principled person and as a principled Jew.

The Greening of Agudah

Environmental issues have not been on their agenda hitherto, I assume because these issues were not critical nor is there a significant body of halachic (Jewish law) literature relating to these issues. Our history and halachic approach heretofore hasn’t had to deal with environmental issues that threaten our existence or our quality of life. I do believe however that the time has come when we need to adjust our halachic models to include the threatening affects of global warming and other factors negatively impacting our environment.
